3 reasons posts can be outstanding

Bloggy Tag - Vivien tagging me for outstanging posts memeVivien from Inspiration Bit tagged me for an “Outstanding Posts” meme. I have decided to list 3 reasons that make a post more outstanding because of appreciating both the readers and yourself. If you wish, you can find out through the introductory article about what memes are.

3 reasons how posts that appreciate readers are outstanding

  1. The post was written to help people

If you write a post that addresses some issue that your readers may be having, you can have an outstanding post. Even if such a post is written just to make money, as long as you are sincerely addressing the issue with all your efforts, you can help others. Helping others is a sign of appreciation, and posts that actually help people in both the short and the long term can be outstanding posts.

  2. The post was written with a passion to express something

You can either write because you are passionate about a certain topic, or you can blog because you have a passion for making money. Depending on your intentions, you can have an outstanding post if your passion is aimed more at expressing something instead of using a post to gauge in visitors. Sure, in the short term one post of yours can bring in a lot of traffic, but in the long run, your entire blog has to have some kind of a passion for something other than money in order to be good at appreciating people by offering them something important.

  3. The post was written because of voluntary obligation

Some bloggers blog because they feel obligated to blog. Others blog because they feel obligated to tell others something or to express something. If you feel obligated to blog because of wanting to make money, you are going to have more non-useful posts instead of outstanding posts. An outstanding post should not only look good but it should also have a good vibe coming out of it. For me, stressing out for 12 hours because of wanting to finish a post, because I want to express something voluntarily, is better than stressing out for 3 hours writing a post only because I am getting paid for it. The effect of such a stress is visible in the long run, where a whole blog starts to show vibes that the blogger is either passionate about things and willing to change opinions for the better, or if the blogger is simply advertising a single concept repeatedly in order to make money.

Those are 3 reasons that can make any post an outstanding post. What is your opinion on these? Please let me know if you can come up with more reasons that can make a post outstanding.

For this meme, I would like to tag Sawai and Iris.

WoW, I think that’s the first time when my name was used within a heading tag with such an emphasis (even though it was only an H3 tag :-) )

First of all, thanks for responding to my tagging, Bes.
Second, I really like your point #3 – an outstanding post has “a good vibe coming out of it”, and what’s more important is the fact that everyone can feel that vibe – the author and the readers.
Don’t blog with the feeling that you have to, but because you want to.

The outstanding posts are the ones that have a connection – connection with the readers, with the blog’s theme, with the author’s thoughts and position on the subject matter. It’s all about making connections and get connected.

Vivien-inspirationbit, thanks for the comment! I guess I should use an h2 tag next time. :)

Yes, the feeling has to be voluntary, even if you turn that volunteer feeling into an obligation because you yourself want to.

And yes, the connection is the important element here. Why write for others to read when we have no will and no wish to connect with others on any level?
