Do you follow these steps to make your business blog more personal?
Do people always run away from business blogs? Not at all! In fact, blogs tend to be more successful when they are run like a business in at least some specific manner. That specific manner or method depends on you and your business preferences. What you can do, regardless of your business or blog niche, is to try to bring your blog one level closer to the actual blog readers who are your existing and potential customers.
RA Project in this article shares with you 5 ways you can make your business blog more personal.
5 Ways To Make Your Business Blog More Personal
- Introduce your personal self.
The best way to make any business blog more personal is by actually making yourself, including any co-workers, a personal part of your blog. Introduce your personal self to your blog readers by being personal. Tell them what you, as an individual, prefer and what you bring to the table. If the readers want to know more about your business side, they can read the “About” page of your corporate website.
- Offer personal opinions.
Instead of quoting other publications, offer your personal opinion also. Why are you blogging about a certain topic? What is your view about the topic? Do you have any personal questions about what the blog is aiming to cover? The more your blog readers see more personal, original analysis by you, the more they will be willing to interact with your blog on a more personal level.
- Disclose hidden business relationships.
This should be the most obvious. Try telling your blog readers somewhere on your blog that you may be trying to make money. Such a disclosure should be obvious or self evident on blogs that link and promote the direct products by the blog creator, specially if such blog is directly linked to and by the product pages in question and the customers know about it. Otherwise, simply tell your readers how you make money, even generally, or if some company has a business and financial relationship with you which is prompting you to introduce them to your blog readers. An “Advertise” page can do the proper thing too.
- Communicate with your blog commentors and readers on a personal level.
One of the most important things a blogger can do is to actually communicate with blog commentors on a personal level. What are your blog commentors talking about? What are their problems? What do they want? If you can communicate with each commentor, or many commentors, on a personal level by actually interacting with them in their personal context, you are more likely to know what they want and more likely to get them to understand and support or help you more.
- Make your blog more than just a marketing pamphlet.
There is probably no point in having a blog if you want people to interact with you more and all you do in return is to solely promote your products, which you already do on your corporate website. Your blog should be more than just a marketing technique. Aweber is a great example of this. Aweber not only has a blog which tells you how to use their email newsletter management tools, it also offers its blog readers several tutorials and tips on how to get more clients, make more money and how to communicate more effectively.
Is your business blog not personal at all?
Each of these 5 things can be customized to your exact blog and business preferences. The goal for any implementation of such blogging techniques or information should be to make it easier for your blog readers to both associate and connect with you on a more personal, trustworthy level.
What is your business blog about? Do you try to be personal on your business blog? Have you tried any of the points above?
