Are you regularly updating your customers?
Keeping your users up to date with the latest release note helps maintain customer loyalty and interest in an extremely powerful way. Your users regularly try to find out what is changing in the services and products they use. Corporate blogs of any kind, from Facebook to PlayStation to Microsoft, help loyal customers realize and relate to what is happening at such companies.
In order to make sure customers know constantly that you are there for them, you have to update your customers and users of all kinds with the different announcements and information that relate to them.
Ways to keep your users updated
- Blog all updates and changes under special categories, labels or tags.
- Keep changelogs or release notes on your site. Google provides Google Voice Release Notes as an example, whereas HootSuite does not provide any release notes for their HootSuite Android App.
- Post updates on your social networks for anyone on such social networks to find out and utilize.
- E-mail them with a newsletter service like Aweber. An example of this is the RA Project Updates.
- Contact your users via the phone, email or texts to let them know about critical changes they may be interested in. Many users will actually take you more seriously and thank you if you notified them via the phone of security or money related updates and changes.
Do you keep your blog readers regularly updated?
Now, as time passes and based on above information, would you keep your users updated on a regular basis about different things happening in and around your blog, company and services? Can you apply this principle to other things and figure out whether or not you would, or would like to, keep your users updated on anything you have publicly announced?
Please share your answers, opinions, questions or what you think about the above through your comment below. Thank you.
