Google Plus is the new social network in town and it has become the go to network already for many on the web.
Everyone from blog owners to business mavericks and lots more in between use Google Plus for outreach, marketing, content sharing and or to mix and mingle with like minded peers.
Whatever your reason for becoming a Google + fan, one thing is clear. Without followers you’re not going to have too much fun.
So the adage as is usual in social media is that the more the merrier. But how does one grow their Circles? How does one go from ten followers to hundred and more?
Below we present a few ideas and tips on how to do just this via a few simple methods and tricks.
1. Do Outreach From Your Blog

Use your blog to garner more followers via a special contest where the method of entry requires one to sign up to your Google + circle, or perhaps write an article that addresses how awesome Google Plus is and why others should join in and become fans too.
Your blog should be a driving force in all your social media campaigns, so use it wisely and often. Also don’t forget to include the appropriate widgets and buttons on your site to allow others to easily and quickly add you to their respective networks.
2. Ask Your Readers
If you want others to do something, sometimes the only way to know for sure if they will do it is to simply ask. Want more followers? Ask. Place a clear and prominent call to action on your site asking for others to join your new Google + page and if they do so, maybe throw in some special reward like a free ebook, report or other similar goodie.
This idea is highly under-utilized yet highly effective.
3. Guest Post
This idea involves the strategic use of guest articles on popular and well trafficked blogs to garner a certain end result. That might be leads for a new product, joint venture or in this case grow your Google + following.
Most sites that accept guest posts will have a page dedicated to this practice, so try to find blogs by performing a Google search with the query of niche + guest posts, so if you run a travel blog you would type in “travel guest posts” and then contact the blog owner to ask if you can submit a guest article.
If you get the go, then write a fantastic article and at the end of it or in the BIO area include a link to your Google Plus profile page and flat out ask others to follow you.
