Is Selling Digital Documents the New Emerging Trend?

People are never satisfied with how much they make. Like death and taxes, that seems to be another certainty. Ask anyone if they think they should be paid more. The answer will surely be a resounding “yes”, and the reason why career building services appear to be the fastest growing companies.

So, what if you could make your day job work for you?

With the growing innovations on the Internet, it has become easier and easier to monetize aspects of one’s life that would have otherwise been completely “worthless.” Let’s take Craigslist and eBay, as a couple examples. With these sites, millions have been able to sell their junk that would’ve otherwise ended up in the junkyard.

People make full time salaries now selling old stuff on eBay. Boxes collecting dust in the attic turn into cash collecting interest in the bank. With Airbnb, people can even monetize their family room couch.

Now, with Flevy, a new site in its pre-launch stage, you can monetize your business documents. Flevy is a marketplace for selling business documents–specifically, documents used by folks who work in a business function (e.g. IT, marketing, accounting, human resources, etc.). These documents can range from Excel Financial Models to customizable PowerPoint Templates to “How-To” Business Frameworks.

Think about all the tools you have created to make your job easier.
How many others would benefit from your tool?
How much would companies pay to save employees a few hours of work?
How much would they pay to save employees several weeks of work?

Over the course of our careers, we are always coming up with clever tricks or tools to increase our work efficiency. These tools aren’t openly shared, even though a lot of people would benefit from them.

Just like those boxes in the attic, there’s no reason to let your IP collect dust, when it can be making you recurring income. Best of all, business documents are digital and have unlimited inventory. You just need to create it once, but can sell it a thousand times.

Currently, in its pre-launch stage, Flevy is actively inviting business professionals like yourself to join and list your documents for sale. Flevy also have a generous commission-based referral program, so that you can tap into and monetize your professional network. Now, what else can we monetize, that we haven’t yet?

I’ve actually visited the website and from what I’ve seen so far the offerings are quite nice (in terms of price and quality). Considering the immense demand for buying articles it doesn’t surprise me that they’re trying to monetize on business documents.

(Perhaps repost, I signed into my Twitter account instead)

Since I am a chiropractor I don’t know a thing about this but I really want to learn and probably imply this somehow. I don’t know how long it will take me but it’s worth giving it a start today.
