With the permission of Liz Strauss and the talent of Brett Terpstra, the first Reader Appreciation Project badge is ready for consumption.





The members of the Reader Appreciation Project will periodically announce websites who have shown an outstanding quality in placing the readers first on a website or a blog. If you would like to nominate a website or blog for the ‘Readers First’ award, please use our contact form.
The ‘Readers First’ award is awarded to bloggers and website owners who demonstrate most of the following qualities:
- Unquestionable dedication to reader appreciation.
- Placing readers before income.
- Placing reader interests in redesigns and ad placement.
- Offering full feeds.
- Offering reader interaction through comments or e-mail.
- Allowing readers to have a voice.
- Recognizing that readers enable a site to grow.
Blogs and websites that acknowledge and accept the ‘Readers First’ award accept the following:
- No link or acknowledgment to the Reader Appreciation Project is necessary.
- Displaying of the badge on the website is not necessary.
- The blog or website owner is awarded the badge based on the current perception of putting the readers first.
- The blog or website owner shall pledge to continue to support his or her readership through whatever means necessary to advance the concept of reader appreciation.
- The blog or website owner should continue to put the readers first when planning the future of the website or blog.

Designed by Brett Terpstra and the slogan inspired by Vivien from Inspiration Bit, we proudly present the ‘Readers First’ Badges. If awarded the ‘Readers First’ award, please choose your appropriate badge if planning to display the badge on your website. Please note that acknowledgment of the Reader Appreciation Project or the Readers First badge is optional.
For your convenience, the badges are designed for a black, white, and a transparent backround with a 200 pixel width:
